The idiom “When It Rains, It Pours” means when nothing is happening for a long time or when any single good thing happen, they are followed by a series of good things which are not expected. The same applies to bad situations as well.
Eg: After working hard to pay his debts, John, not only paid off his debts, but also saved enough
money to plan for a vacation.
As they went to eat after work, their car got stuck on the way, leaving them walking drenched in
rain, only to reach the closed resturant.
