The Konkan region is a coastal area in Maharashtra stretching along the Arabian Sea. It is characterized by:Narrow Coastal Plains: Flanked by the Western Ghats to the east and the Arabian Sea to the west.Rivers and Estuaries: Numerous rivers such as the Vashishti, Savitri, and Kundalika flow through the region, creating fertile estuaries.Beaches and Ports: Famous for pristine beaches like Alibaug, Ratnagiri, and Ganpatipule, and major ports like Mumbai and JNPT (Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust).
