Quantum cryptography, particularly Quantum Key Distribution (QKD), offers a new level of security by leveraging the principles of quantum mechanics to detect eavesdropping and ensure secure communication. Unlike classical cryptographic methods, QKD can theoretically guarantee secure transmission of encryption keys because any attempt to intercept the key changes its state, alerting the parties involved.
