The fundamental function of a Biaxial Geogrid is to provide stabilization and reinforcement to granular base layers and subgrade soils, primarily in road construction, paved and unpaved areas, and working platforms.
This geosynthetic material is typically a polymer structure, often made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE) or polypropylene (PP), featuring a grid-like configuration with uniform openings (apertures).
Its Biaxial Geogrid designation means it possesses high tensile strength in both the machine direction (MD) and the cross-machine direction (CD). When placed between the soft subgrade and the aggregate base course, the Biaxial Geogrid interacts with the aggregate through a mechanism called interlock.
