Harvest index is calculated as follows: lbs of grain divided by (lbs stover added by lbs grain).
There is no specific formula for harvesting.
But
1. Harvest index = (Harvested yield/Total biomass) × 100
2. Crop yield = Total harvest /planting area
3. Resource harvesting = (Harvest rate × Time) × Resource availability
4. Sustainable harvesting = (Harvest rate × Time) < or = ( Resource replenishment rate × Time)
