Pilates and a traditional gym can both be used for exercise, but their approaches can be different. A gym usually offers many types of equipment and workouts, including cardio, weight training, and strength exercises. Pilates often focuses more on controlled movement, posture, balance, flexibility, core strength, and body awareness. Pilates also has specific exercises and equipment designed around its method.
