The main downside, from my perspective, is that someone looking for fast results may become impatient. Pilates requires regular practice, and improvements in lean muscle development, flexibility, balance, and posture can take time. It may also feel too slow for people who prefer intense cardio or heavy strength training. These are not necessarily problems with Pilates itself; they are simply factors that may make the style less suitable for certain preferences.
