UPI is a banking system for money transfers on payment apps. To add a bank account to Google Pay, your bank must work with UPI. Your UPI ID is an address that identifies you on UPI (typically yourname@bankname).
Your UPI ID (Unified Payments Interface ID) is a unique identifier that you use to send and receive money through the UPI payment system in India. It is typically in the format of “yourname@bankname” (e.g., johnsmith@upibank).
To find out your UPI ID:
1. Banking App: Open the banking app (such as Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, etc.) that you have linked to your bank account and through which you use UPI.
2. Profile or Settings: Look for options like “Profile”, “Settings”, or “UPI ID” within the app.
3. View or Edit UPI ID: In the profile or settings section, you should see your current UPI ID displayed. If you don’t have one set up yet, the app will guide you through the process of creating one.
4. Set or Change UPI ID: If needed, you can set or change your UPI ID through these settings as well. Follow the app’s instructions to complete the setup or modification.
