The Model Code of Conduct (MCC) refers to a set of guidelines and rules issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI) for political parties and candidates during elections and employees in govt sector. It aims to ensure free and fair elections by regulating the conduct of political parties and candidates. Key provisions of the MCC include refraining from activities that could unfairly influence voters, such as bribing or intimidating voters, using government resources for campaign purposes, making inflammatory speeches, or engaging in any form of electoral malpractice. The MCC is enforced from the date of announcement of elections until the conclusion of the electoral process.
