Hunter’s Moon in the West is called Kartik Purnima in India, and it is a sacred festival celebrated all over India. Kartika Purnima is a Hindu, Sikh and Jain holi festival, celebrated on the Purnima (full moon) day or the fifteenth lunar day of Kartik (November–December). It is also known as Tripuri Purnima and Tripurari Purnima. It is sometimes called Deva-Diwali or Deva-Deepawali – the festival of lights of the gods.
