In education, the term “handicap” is generally considered outdated and has been largely replaced by more modern terms such as “disability” or “special needs.” However, in its traditional sense, it referred to conditions or challenges that might affect a student’s ability to learn or participate fully in educational activities.
1. A handicap is a disadvantage or impediment that limits a person’s ability to function effectively in certain situations or activities. 2. Disabilities, whether physical or mental, can result in a handicap that makes it more difficult for a person to perform certain tasks or participate fully in society.
