Form 16 is a certificate issued by employers to their employees reflecting the salary earned during the financial year and the TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) deducted from the salary income. It also contains details of deductions claimed by the employee under various sections of the Income Tax Act. Form 16 serves as proof of TDS and is used by employees while filing their income tax returns.
