Eisoptrophobia is the fear of mirrors or of seeing one’s own reflection. Individuals with this phobia may experience anxiety, discomfort, or panic when they are around mirrors or reflective surfaces. The term comes from the Greek words “eis” (into) and “optro” (mirror), combined with “phobia” (fear). This phobia can be associated with various underlying concerns, such as superstition, fear of self-perception, or traumatic experiences related to mirrors.
