A cloudburst is a sudden, intense rainfall event that can result in a large amount of precipitation falling over a short period, typically within minutes to a few hours. This phenomenon often occurs in mountainous regions and can lead to flash floods, landslides, and significant water accumulation. Cloudbursts are usually associated with cumulonimbus clouds and can release rainfall amounts exceeding 100 mm (4 inches) in just a short time, posing serious risks to life and property.
