A supercell is a highly organized type of thunderstorm characterized by a rotating updraft called a mesocyclone. It is the most likely type of storm to produce severe weather events, including tornadoes, large hail, and heavy rainfall due to its strong rotation and ability to sustain itself for extended periods.
