REST (Representational State Transfer) is an architectural style for designing networked applications. A RESTful API adheres to REST principles, such as statelessness, uniform interface, and resource-based URLs. Unlike SOAP or RPC APIs, RESTful APIs use standard HTTP methods (GET, POST, PUT, DELETE) and are designed to be scalable, flexible, and easy to use.
