A parabola is a set of points whose distances from a fixed point in the plane are equal to their distances from a fixed line in the plane. Hyperbola is a set of all points in a plane whose distances from a fixed point in the plane bears a constant ratio, greater than 1 to their distances from a fixed line in the plane.
