ITU stands for International Telecommunication Union, and it’s a United Nations agency that deals with telecommunications and information and communication technologies (ICT).
Role:
The ITU coordinates global telecommunications networks and services between governments and the private sector. It also regulates satellite systems and radio frequencies, and oversees updates to the Radio Regulations, the international treaty that governs radio frequency use.
