Adenology is the branch of medical science that focuses on the study of glands. This includes the structure, function, diseases, and disorders of both endocrine and exocrine glands. Endocrine glands, such as the thyroid and pituitary glands, secrete hormones directly into the bloodstream, while exocrine glands, such as salivary and sweat glands, release their secretions through ducts to specific areas of the body.
