The ovary, a vital part of the female reproductive system, consists of the following parts:
1. *Cortex*: The outer layer, where follicles develop and mature.
2. *Medulla*: The inner layer, containing blood vessels and nerves.
3. *Follicles*: Fluid-filled sacs that contain an immature egg (oocyte).
4. *Corpus luteum*: A temporary endocrine structure formed from a ruptured follicle, producing progesterone.
5. *Hilum*: The area where blood vessels and nerves enter the ovary.
6. *Stroma*: The connective tissue that supports the ovary’s structure.
7. *Surface epithelium*: A single layer of cells covering the ovary’s surface.
These parts work together to produce eggs, hormones, and support reproductive processes.
