Gerrymandering, the manipulation of electoral district boundaries to favor a particular party, undermines electoral fairness by distorting representation. It can lead to disproportionate influence for the party in control of redistricting, diminish competition, and disenfranchise certain voter groups, ultimately eroding public trust in the democratic process.
