Leucoplasts are colorless plastids that are present in certain regions of the plant which do not receive light. They are responsible for the storage of lipids, carbohydrates, and proteins. Based on the storage, leucoplasts can be categorized into three types namely, Amyloplasts, Elaioplasts, and Proteinoplasts.
