The Poona Pact was signed between Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in 1932. This agreement was a compromise that followed the recommendations of the Communal Award, and it addressed the representation of the depressed classes (Dalits) in legislative bodies, allowing them a greater degree of political representation.
