The Lion Capital pillar is located at Sarnath, near Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India. It is an ancient Indian sculpture that originally crowned an Ashokan pillar erected by Emperor Ashoka in the 3rd century BCE. The Lion Capital is now a national emblem of India.
