The Indira Gandhi Award for National Integration is given by the Indian National Congress after Indira Gandhi.This award was given for the first time in 1985. And after that it is given annually to distinguished personalities or Institutions for promoting national integration and understanding and fellowship amongst religious groups, communities, ethinic groups, cultures languages and traditions of india and the strengthening, through thought and actions of the nation’s sense of Solidarity It is given on Marytr’s day and it carries an amount of 5 lakh in cash and a citation.
