The blue whale is a marine mammal. Male blue whales weigh approx. 150,000kg, newborn blue whales 2,700kg (same as an adult hippopotamus), and female whales more than 190,000kg. The heart of a blue whale can weigh 450kg. Before they were hunted by commercial whaling, some whales reached 200,000kg. Despite their enormous size, they feed on tiny shrimp-like crustaceans called krill (as many as 40 million every day). Average-sized blue whales consume 1,120 ± 359 kilograms (2,469 ± 791 lb) of krill a day. The global blue whale population is estimated to be 5,000–15,000 mature individuals and 10,000–25,000 total as of 2018.
The average weight of a blue whale is 1,30,000-1,50,000 kg
