The major parts of a flower include:

    1. Petals: The colorful, often fragrant, parts that attract pollinators.
    2. Sepals: The green, leaf-like structures that protect the flower bud.
    3. Stamens: The male reproductive organs, consisting of:
    – Filaments: The stalks that support the anthers.
    – Anthers: The pollen-producing structures.
    4. Carpels: The female reproductive organs, consisting of:
    – Stigma: The sticky surface that receives pollen.
    – Style: The narrow tube that connects the stigma to the ovary.
    – Ovary: The structure that contains the ovules (eggs) where fertilization occurs.
    5. Receptacle: The base of the flower that supports the other parts.
    6. Peduncle: The stalk that attaches the flower to the plant.

These parts work together to facilitate pollination, fertilization, and the production of seeds and fruits!

Most flowers have four main parts: sepals, petals, stamens, and carpels. The stamens are the male part whereas the carpels are the female part of the flower. Most flowers are hermaphrodite where they contain both male and female parts. Others may contain one of the two parts and may be male or female.
