Yes, But it’s not completely like you saw in the movies. It is a disease called Porphyria ( Vampire disease). It’s a rare genetic disorder that affects the heme pathway an important component of Hemoglobin. Porphyria occurs when the body can’t convert the porphyrins into heme protein. As we all know, hemoglobin levels are important to detect the amount of blood in our body. Its symptoms are pale skin, anemia, protruding teeth, muscle weakness, and skin blisters when exposed to sunlight. It can be treated through blood transfusion, hemin injection, and vitamin D supplements.
