Even though these events occur every four years, the summer and winter events are arranged so that there’s an Olympic event every two years. The Summer Olympics are held every leap year like 2016, 2020, and 2024. The Winter Olympics are held 2 years after the leap year like 2014, 2018, and 2022.
Athletes from more than 200 countries compete in them. The Olympics include the Summer Games and the Winter Games. Each is held in a different country once every four years. Until the early 1990s the Summer and Winter Games were held in the same year.
