Volcanoes are created when magma rises from within the Earth and pushes to the surface as lava through the fissures.
Volcanoes formed in three plate settings:
Constructive boundaries: A new crust is formed between two plates when the plates are moving away from each other.
Destructive boundaries: Mountain ranges are formed or the old crust will drag down into the mantle when plates move towards each other.
Transform boundaries: No crust is formed or destroyed when plates move past each other.
