The installation process for Rockshield Mesh is straightforward and versatile, allowing field crews to apply the material either manually or mechanically via longitudinal wrapping, transverse wrapping, or spiral wrapping methods. Before the backfilling phase begins, workers cut the protective padding to match the specific circumference of the pipeline, adding an essential extra boundary of four to six inches to facilitate a proper overlap. This overlap is positioned at the bottom radius of the pipe to maximize protection where the asset rests on the trench floor, and the entire assembly is secured tightly using non-metallic strapping bands or high-strength filament tapes.
