Easiest way I’ve found is the screen test just hold them up to your phone or laptop screen and rotate them. If the lenses go dark, they’re polarized. You can also look at a reflective surface like a wet road or car hood; polarized lenses will cut the glare noticeably.
If you’re buying new ones and want to make sure you’re getting legit polarized lenses without overpaying, I’ve had good luck with eyebuydirect.com, decent quality and they clearly label what’s polarized.
To check if sunglasses are polarized, wear them and look at a reflective surface, like water or a car window. Tilt your head slightly; if the glare reduces or disappears, the lenses are polarized.
