In my 10 years of experience in the steam turbine industry, I’ve learned that turbine components are primarily manufactured through casting and forging. For instance, critical parts like turbine rotors are usually made by forging, which gives them the strength needed to handle high pressures and temperatures. In contrast, larger components like casings are often produced through casting, allowing for complex shapes while keeping costs manageable.
At NCON Turbines, we use both methods to ensure the highest quality for our steam turbines. This combination allows us to create durable and efficient products tailored to meet the needs of various industries, ultimately ensuring reliable turbine performance.
