Explain the process of creating tempered glass and discuss its advantages over regular glass.
Tempered glass is produced through a process of heating regular glass to high temperatures and then rapidly cooling it. This process, known as tempering, creates internal stresses within the glass, making it stronger and more resistant to impacts and thermal stress compared to regular glass. Tempered glass is also safer because it shatters into small, blunt pieces when broken, reducing the risk of injury from sharp edges.
