The Zeroth Law of Thermodynamics is a basic principle that helps define temperature. It states that if two systems are each in thermal equilibrium with a third system, they are in thermal equilibrium with each other. This law essentially means that if two objects are at the same temperature as a third object, they must also be at the same temperature as each other. It’s called the “Zeroth” Law because it was identified after the other laws of thermodynamics but was considered so fundamental that it needed to be placed before them.
