Loxodromy refers to the method of navigation in which a vessel or aircraft travels along a constant rhumb line, maintaining a constant compass direction. This route is not the shortest distance between two points on a curved surface (such as the Earth’s surface), but rather follows a path that intersects all meridians at the same angle.
