Bhavai is a genre of folk dance popular in Rajasthan state in northern India. Bhavai, also known as Vesha or Swang, is a popular folk theatre form of western India, especially in Gujarat. Bhavai may derive from the Sanskrit word Bhava, meaning expression or emotion. It is also associated with Hindu goddess Amba.
Bhavai is a genre of folk dance popular in Rajasthan and Gujarat states in western India. The men from these communities offer the music to this dance, using string and percussion instruments. Bhavai dance is often misinterpreted from ‘ Bhavai’ which is a folk theatre form of Gujarat.
