Fixed deposits in India are considered safe investments as they are backed by the depositor’s principal amount and the reputation of the bank or financial institution. Additionally, deposits up to ₹5 lakhs per depositor per bank are insured under the Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation (DICGC) scheme.
