    Added an answer on July 17, 2024 at 9:23 pm

    Let the value be x. x = 5/(3 + 3/(1 - 2/3)) = 5/(3 + 3/((3 - 2)/3)) = 5/(3 + 3/(1/3) = 5/(3 + 9) = 5/12 Answer: The value x is 5/12.

    Let the value be x.
    x = 5/(3 + 3/(1 – 2/3))
    = 5/(3 + 3/((3 – 2)/3))
    = 5/(3 + 3/(1/3)
    = 5/(3 + 9)
    = 5/12
    Answer: The value x is 5/12.

    This answer was edited.

    7/9 = 0.78 5/8 = 0.625 3/7 = 0.428 Clearly, 0.78 > 0.625 > 0.428 Therefore, 7/9 > 5/8 > 3/7 Answer: 7/9 > 5/8 > 3/7.

    7/9 = 0.78

    5/8 = 0.625

    3/7 = 0.428

    Clearly, 0.78 > 0.625 > 0.428

    Therefore, 7/9 > 5/8 > 3/7

    Answer: 7/9 > 5/8 > 3/7.

    In certain time a sum becomes 4 times at the rate of 5% per annum. At what rate of simple interest the same sum becomes 8 times in the same duration?

    Suptisree Biswas Knowledge Contributor
    Added an answer on July 17, 2024 at 9:13 pm

    Case I, Principal = Rs. x Interest = 4x - x = Rs. 3x Therefore, Time = (S.I. × 100)/(Principal × Rate) = (3x × 100)/(x × 5) = 60 years Case II, Time = 60 years Interest = Rs. 7x Therefore, Rate = (Interest × 100)/(Principal × Time) = (7x × 100)/(x × 60) = 35/3 = 11 2/3% per annum Answer: At 11 2/3%Read more

    Case I,
    Principal = Rs. x
    Interest = 4x – x = Rs. 3x
    Therefore, Time = (S.I. × 100)/(Principal × Rate)
    = (3x × 100)/(x × 5) = 60 years
    Case II,
    Time = 60 years
    Interest = Rs. 7x
    Therefore, Rate = (Interest × 100)/(Principal × Time)
    = (7x × 100)/(x × 60)
    = 35/3
    = 11 2/3% per annum
    Answer: At 11 2/3% of simple interest the same sum becomes 8 times in the same duration.

    Added an answer on July 17, 2024 at 9:03 pm

    P = P0 (1 + R/100)^T => 185220 = P0 (1 + 5/100)^3 => 185220 = P0 (21/20)^3 => P0 = (185220 × 20 × 20 × 20)/(21 × 21 × 21) => P0 = 160000 Answer: 3 years ago its population was 160000.

    P = P0 (1 + R/100)^T
    => 185220 = P0 (1 + 5/100)^3
    => 185220 = P0 (21/20)^3
    => P0 = (185220 × 20 × 20 × 20)/(21 × 21 × 21)
    => P0 = 160000

    What would be the compound interest on ₹ 3200 at 25% per annum for 3 years?

    Suptisree Biswas
    Suptisree Biswas Knowledge Contributor
    Added an answer on July 17, 2024 at 8:46 pm

    C.I. = P[(1 + R/100)^T - 1] = 3200 [(1 + 25/100)^3 - 1] = 3200 [(1 + 1/4)^3 - 1] = 3200 [(5/4)^3 - 1] = 3200 [(125/64 - 1)] = 3200 × 61/64 = Rs. 3050

    C.I. = P[(1 + R/100)^T – 1]
    = 3200 [(1 + 25/100)^3 – 1]
    = 3200 [(1 + 1/4)^3 – 1]
    = 3200 [(5/4)^3 – 1]
    = 3200 [(125/64 – 1)]
    = 3200 × 61/64
    = Rs. 3050
