Deepfake technology is a type of artificial intelligence used to create convincing fake images, videos and audio recordings. The term describes both the technology and the resulting bogus content and is a portmanteau of deep learning and fake.

Deepfakes often transform existing source content where one person is swapped for another. They also create entirely original content where someone is represented doing or saying something they didn’t do or say.

The greatest danger posed by deepfakes is their ability to spread false information that appears to come from trusted sources. While deepfakes pose serious threats, they also have legitimate uses, such as video game audio and entertainment, and customer support and caller response applications, such as call forwarding and receptionist services.

The root of every strand of hair is surrounded by a tube of tissue under the skin that is called the hair follicle. Each hair follicle contains a certain number of pigment cells. These pigment cells constantly make a chemical called melanin that gives the growing shaft of hair its color of brown, blonde, black, red, and anything in between.

As we get older, the pigment cells in our hair follicles gradually die. When there are fewer pigment cells in a hair follicle, that strand of hair will no longer contain as much melanin and will become a more transparent color like – gray, silver, or white — as it grows. As people continue to get older, fewer pigment cells will be around to produce melanin. Eventually, the hair will look completely gray.

Norway is called the Land of Midnight Sun because it frequently witnesses a natural phenomenon called midnight sun. As a result, the country’s northernmost region experiences sunlight 24/7 during summer.

The Midnight Sun occurs north of the Arctic Circle at 66º33′N during the summer months: beyond this latitude, the sun never completely sets below the horizon.

This can be explained as: As the Earth rotates on a tilted axis relative to the sun, the North Pole is angled towards the sun during summer. This also means the further north you go, the higher in the sky the sun is at night.

As a sizable portion of its territory is located above the Arctic Circle, Norway is well known as the Land of the Midnight Sun.

    1. LAN means local area network and WAN means wide area network.

    2. LANs connect users and applications in close geographical proximity (same building) whereas WANs connect users and applications in geographically dispersed locations (across the globe).

    3. LANs use OSI Layer 1 and Layer 2 data connection equipment for transmission and

WANs use Layer 1, 2, and 3 network devices for data transmission.

    4. LANs are faster, because they span less distance and have less congestion.

WANs are slightly slower, but that may not be perceived.

    5. LANs are good for private IoT networks, bot networks, and small business networks whereas WANs are good for disaster recovery, applications with global users, and large corporate networks.

Out of these, 34 are cultural, seven are natural, and one, Khangchendzonga National Park, is of mixed type.

India has the sixth-most sites worldwide.

The first sites to be listed were the Ajanta Caves, Ellora Caves, Agra Fort, and Taj Mahal.

The most recent sites listed were Santiniketan and the Sacred Ensembles of the Hoysalas, in 2023.

At different times, two sites were listed as endangered: the Manas Wildlife Sanctuary was listed between 1992 and 2011 due to poaching and the activities of Bodo militias, and the monuments at Hampi were listed between 1999 and 2006 due to risks from increased traffic and new constructions in surroundings.

One site is transnational: The Architectural Work of Le Corbusier is shared with six other countries.

Allelopathy is a biological phenomenon in which an organism produces one or more biomolecules that affect the growth, survival and/or reproduction of other organisms.

Some plants are able to suppress the growth of other plants near them by releasing chemicals in their leaves as they fall and decompose or by releasing allelopathic chemicals from their roots.

These allelopathic chemicals keep new plant species from being able to germinate, or are toxic to the plant after it germinates near them.

Once these chemicals are in the soil, they have a prolonged effect that at times can outlive the plant that produced them.
