    Osmosis is a process of movement of solvents through a semi-permeable membrane from a region of lower solute concentration to higher solute concentration. On the contrary, diffusion does not require a semi-permeable membrane to occur and the molecules move from a region of higher concentration to lower concentration.

    Osmosis is the movement of solvent from a solution with a high concentration of solvent to a solution with a lower concentration of solvent, through a cell’s partially permeable membrane ( partially permeable membrane is a selectively permeable membrane which only allows certain molecule or ion to cross it ).

    Osmosis is the movement of water molecules through a semi-permeable membrane from an area of low solute concentration to an area of high solute concentration, in order to equalize the concentration on both sides of the membrane.
