The Deccan Plateau is a large plateau in western and southern India. It covers most of the southern part of the country and extends into parts of central India. The plateau is bounded by the Satpura and Vindhya mountain ranges to the north, the Arabian Sea to the west, and the Bay of Bengal to the east.
