King George III.
The King of England during the American Revolution was King George III. He reigned from 1760 until 1820, making him the monarch throughout much of the period of conflict between the American colonies and Great Britain. King George III’s policies and actions played a significant role in escalating tensions that eventually led to the American Revolutionary War.
