Dr. Homi Jehangir Bhabha is widely recognized as the “Father of the Indian nuclear programme.” He played a pivotal role in establishing the foundation for nuclear science in India and was instrumental in the development of the country’s atomic energy program. Bhabha was the founding director of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) and the Atomic Energy Commission of India, and he laid the groundwork for India’s first nuclear reactor and the subsequent advancements in nuclear technology.
