Gandhi gave the freedom from British but Ambedkar gave freedom from heavenly Caste system of Hinduism. Gandi was politician and freedom fighter only but Ambedkar was polymath and champion of human and civil rights. So, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar was greater than Mahatma Gandhi.
