Manipur is the first state in India to introduce the “Oak Tussar Industry”
The first state in India to introduce the “Oak Tussar Industry” is Jharkhand. Oak Tussar silk is produced from the cocoons of the Oak Tasar silkworm, found predominantly in the forests of Jharkhand. This initiative aims to promote sericulture (silk production) and provide livelihood opportunities to local communities involved in silk farming and production.
