Braking power is better in a disc brake. They are capable of effectively stopping a vehicle even at high speeds. Disc brakes have a lower chance of failure from overheating because of their open-air design. Disc brakes stay cleaner, and their components do not rust easily.

Drum brakes and disc brakes are both used in vehicles to help them stop, but they work in different ways. Here’s a simple explanation of the difference and which is better:

    1. Drum Brakes: Think of drum brakes like squeezing a can with your hand to stop it. Inside the wheel, there’s a round drum with brake shoes that press against the inside of the drum to slow down the wheel. Drum brakes are reliable and work well for everyday driving, but they can get hot and lose effectiveness during heavy use, like in mountain driving or towing.

    2. Disc Brakes: Disc brakes work more like pinching a spinning plate to stop it. They use a rotor (like a flat plate) attached to the wheel, and when you press the brake pedal, brake pads squeeze against the rotor to slow down the wheel. Disc brakes are more efficient at dissipating heat, so they’re better for heavy-duty use and high-speed driving. They also provide better stopping power and are easier to maintain.

In summary, while both drum brakes and disc brakes can effectively stop a vehicle, disc brakes are generally considered better for their improved performance, especially in demanding conditions.
