The Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA), an autonomous body under the Department of Science and Technology, played a key role in the Shri Ram ‘Surya Tilak’ programme in Ayodhya. The opto-mechanical system used in the ‘Surya Tilak’ programme at Ayodhya was designed by CBRI and the device was manufactured by Optics, Bangalore.
