The football player popularly called “Korol Gola” refers to the legendary Hungarian striker Ferenc Puskás.

The nickname “Korol Gola” translates to “King of Goals” or “Goal King” in several Slavic languages such as Ukrainian, Russian, or Polish. Ferenc Puskás earned this moniker due to his extraordinary goal-scoring record for Hungary’s national team and Real Madrid. He remains one of the most prolific forwards in football history, with over 700 career goals to his name.

“Korol Gola” is Polish, not Hungarian, and it’s used for Robert Lewandowski, not Ferenc Puskás. The phrase literally means King of Goals in Polish, and it stuck to Lewandowski because of his absurdly consistent scoring in modern football.

Ferenc Puskás was a legendary goal scorer, no argument there, but he wasn’t known by this phrase. His legacy lives on mainly through the FIFA Puskás Award, which honors spectacular goals, not a nickname translated as “Korol Gola.”

So the idea makes sense, but it isnt true. This nickname belongs to Lewandowski.
