World Ozone Day is observed annually on September 16th. It aims to raise awareness about the importance of the ozone layer in protecting life on Earth from the harmful effects of ultraviolet (UV) radiation. It also commemorates the signing of the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer in 1987, which has been instrumental in phasing out the production and use of ozone-depleting substances.
